Tanja Ahlin won the Science, Technology, and Medicine (STM) Graduate Student Paper Prize
The prize was awarded at the AAA meeting in Minneapolis by the Science, Technology and Medicine (STM) Special Interest Group (SIG) at the the Society of Medical Anthropology, for her paper 'Only near is dear? Doing elderly care with everyday ICTs in Indian transnational families'.
Tanja Ahlin is PhD student at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research. She analyses care provision to the elderly in Indian transnational families. Particularly, she is exploring how everyday information and communication technologies (ICT) are used to provide care to elderly parents by their children living and working abroad as nurses.
