AIGHD: combined expertise on Global Health

The AIGHD is a new Amsterdam-based institute established to combine local expertise in the area of Global Health within a consortium made up of:
- The Centre for Social Science and Global Health (SSGH), a research priority area of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences dedicated to providing the institute with social sciences-related expertise;
- The Center for Poverty-related Communicable Diseases (CPCD), a consortium of parties dedicated to the study of infectious diseases from the Academic Medical Center (AMC), the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) and the KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, and;
- the Amsterdam Institute for International Development (AIID), a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam. These parties provide the expertise needed to study the relationship between health, healthcare and socio-economic factors, and conduct policy studies to assess the effects of interventions.
